How do I get to Harbor Lights Baptist?
Harbor Lights Baptist Church is conveniently located at the corner of 6th Street and MacArthur Avenue. Side street parking is available on both sides of MacArthur Avenue. People from all over the Ashland area attend our church on a regular basis. For detailed driving directions from your location, please refer to Yahoo Maps.
What can I expect on my first visit?
Since the church is relatively new we are using space in the First Covenant Church. Our Sunday School and Adult & Teen Bible classes meet in the church lower level while the First Covenant have their morning worship upstairs in the auditorium. At 10:30 a.m. both congregations have a fellowship break and switch building space. An usher at the door can answer other questions you may have. Most adults attend the worship service where they enjoy the traditional singing of the hymns, special music, and a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Hoffman. This service is about one hour in length. However, the best way to get to know people and more of the Bible at Harbor Lights is to attend the Children’s Sunday School and/or Adult & Teen Bible class at 9:30 a.m. If you have an infant, toddler, or preschooler we will provide child care or classes for them during your visit. If they are not comfortable or ready to be separated from you, you may keep them with you.
How should I dress?
There is not a dress code at Harbor Lights Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Harbor Lights Baptist!
Am I Expected to Participate in the Offering?
No. We don’t invite you to Harbor Lights Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
